Mars & TBWA\Chiat\Day's Snickers
"Snacklish" Campaign Snags Two Golds at the 2010 OBIES
This year's OAAA OBIE
Awards was particularly sweet for one of Circle Graphics' biggest
customers, Mars Inc., as the candy conglomerate took home a pair of
Gold Medals, as well as seven nods for Finalist recognition, for its
national Snickers "Snacklish" campaign created by
TBWA\Chiat\Day. (Check out how the agency created their Snacklish
concept, and how this campaign was so successfully executed to rave
reviews.)
Circle Graphics is extremely proud to have been selected, following
an extensive bidding process, as the printer of record for this
massive project, producing nearly 25,000 pieces for Mars' major media
push involving billboards, street-level murals, transit shelters, and
public transportation (buses, subways and taxis) signage.
Better still, more than 90% of the Snickers Snacklish pieces-nearly
280,000 square feet-were executed using Circle's 100% recyclable,
PE-based Eco-Flexx™ and Eco-Poster™ substrates. Award-winning and
environmentally friendly as well-it doesn't get much better than
that. Especially when both the client and the agency walk away with
nothing but a sweet taste in their mouth.
"I was very pleased with Circle's performance," said
TBWA\Chiat\Day's Director of Print Services, Evan Curren. "Our
clients trust we will be contracting qualified suppliers, and in this
case, Circle exceeded our expectations. They gave me the peace of
mind I was searching for in every step of the project."
And now Curren and his
agency can add some Gold hardware to that as well. Congratulations to
both Mars and TBWA\Chiat\Day on their success!

Project Spotlight: US Cellular
Agency/Customer: Publicis & Hal Riney
Brand/Advertiser: US Cellular
Products: Eco-Posters, Eco-Flexx, 30 Sheets, Vinyl,
Bus Shelters, Kiosks, Transit, Bus Kings
Publicis & Hal Riney, a close and growing Circle
client since 2009, approached us to produce a national outdoor
campaign for US Cellular, involving the printing of more than 2100
units that spanned the CG product line, including Eco-Posters,
Eco-Flexx bulletins, 30 Sheets, Transit Shelters and Mall
Kiosks.
The national campaign was to run for three months in
markets co ast to coast that included
cities in Washington, Oregon, California, Oklahoma, Nebraska,
Wisconsin, North Carolina and Maine.
The project went very smoothly, with little to no
challenges from start to finish, including a client press check by
Amy Henderson and Michael Whelan, Publicis & Hal Riney's
Production Manager and Art Director, respectively.
"Circle's press checks are very efficient, and we
are always extremely happy with their color and quality," says
Henderson. "And while this project was virtually problem-free,
I've always liked the fact that Circle follows up with any issues
that may come up, and that t hey have an answer or
solution, or can produce materials, to satisfy any need."
"Circle's customer service is amazing,"
continues Henderson. "And the value they offer to our agency and
our client is tremendous. Circle Graphics is truly a great asset to
our business."

Featured AM for July
Kristin Greagor
Kristin has been a key staff member since 2005. She is
one of the leaders on our customer service team and has day-to-day
responsibility for some of our biggest customers. We sat down
recently with Kristin and asked her some questions so you could get
to know her better.
What does Circle's Customer Service philosophy mean to
you, and what personal "touches" do you bring to your
clients?
I treat my clients the way I like to be treated. I have
very high expectations for myself, so I hold my customer service to
an even higher standard. Circle prides itself on providing World
Class Service and I intend to deliver that each and every day.
Describe a typical day, if there is one, for a CG Account
Manager?
One of the reasons I enjoy working at Circle is that
every day is different. I am constantly working on new projects and
getting to meet new people. I also enjoy improving my relationships
with my clients on a day-to-day basis.
Who are some of the clients/accounts you work
with?
I currently work with a lot of cellular companies,
such as US Cellular (Publicis & Hal Riney), Metro PCS (The
Richards Group), and AT&T (BBDO-Atl.), as well as Universal
Studios Theme Park (David & Goliath), Skinny Cow & HSBC Bank
(JWT NY). A few local companies, too, like CBS-Denver, Karsh &
Hagan, and The Integer Group.
Finally, I'm excited to be taking a lead role in the Kinetic/Hi
Resolution business in support of MillerCoors.
What's your favorite recent project that you've ever
been a part of?
I recently worked on a campaign for Skinny Cow ice
cream products, which was a blast! The creative was brightly colored
and fresh feeling. It has really been cool to see the campaign come
together in all media types. Not to mention the clients were fun to
work with and the products are delicious.
What's your favorite part of the job?
Problem solving. I like being creative and challenged!
And I love getting to meet my clients in person. It's always nice to
put a face to a voice I hear over the phone everyday.
What do you do outside of work for fun?
I volunteer in my free time and like giving back to my
community. I currently volunteer at a Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
and during the holiday seasons I do bell ringing for the Salvation
Army. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and on a
summer weekend you can typically find me at Coors Field catching a
Rockies game!
Can you share something-trivia, an anecdote, etc.-with
us that your customers might find interesting?
I am obsessed with the "Most Interesting Man in
the World" commercials for Dos Equis. I think they are so
creative! I'm a fashion enthusiast and love watching Project Runway,
but I have a bit of country in me too. I love NASCAR and enjoy
brushing up on my skills at the shooting range. I am super
competitive and tend to be a perfectionist.

Friends of CG Who Are Making a Difference

The Center for Health, Environment and Justice (CHEJ) is the only
national environmental organization that was founded and is led by a
grassroots leader. Lois Gibbs founded CHEJ after winning the nation's
first community relocation of 900 families due to a leaking toxic
waste dump in Love Canal, New York. Through this effort she also
woke up the nation to recognize the link between people's exposures
to dangerous chemicals in the community setting and serious public
health impacts.
